The Red Devils were thought to be targeting prime centre-back targets like Kalidou Koulibaly, Yerry Mina, Toby Alderweirald, Diego Godin or Raphael Varane for the upcoming transfer window.
With 40 goals conceded in the 2018/19 Premier League season, they currently have the worst defensive record amongst the top six teams. However, interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed to build up the confidence of Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling enough to remain competitive in the top four race.
