Eduardo Camavinga’s transfer to Man United looks almost real now.

The highly talented French midfielder is out of contract next summer and has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

The 18-year old refused to sign a new contract with Rennes and is currently on top of Solskjaer’s wishlist.

Fabrizio Romano claims United are very close to signing the Rennes midfielder.

Romano said: “Eduardo Camavinga, on the other hand, is Manchester United’s priority for midfield. The negotiation is ready to start with Rennes.

“Camavinga’s contract expires in June 2022 and he has no intention of renewing the agreement. That’s why Manchester United want to try to take advantage of it and put on the table its offer for the midfielder.

“Camavinga is waiting. Even Paris Saint-Germain have been following him for months and are in the race to sign the talented Frenchman.

“Manchester United, however, are progressing with their plans for a talent considered the perfect purchase for the short and long term.

“Camavinga is appreciated by everyone at the club and could be an ideal deal for the rebuilding that Manchester United are preparing.

“It will be important to understand Rennes’ request. The rumors around the club speak of 30/35 million euros as a possible amount United will have to offer.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was Haaland’s manager at Molde.

The duo shared an interesting relationship during their time at Molde.

OGS has signed Haaland’s teammate Jadon Sancho this month and this means the Red Devils won’t be making an offer for the Norwegian striker this summer.

Solskjaer is confident that he could sign Haaland for Man United if he really wanted to.

“He is probably not the world’s biggest Manchester United fan,” said the now Red Devils boss. “But if they come to the door, there are not many who say no to that.”

“It was just a matter of time before he scored more goals than me in the Champions League,” Solskjaer said.

“At the age of 20 to achieve the amount of goals he has is fantastic, there are not many more superlatives anyone can use. Whatever I want to say to him I’ll say in Norwegian directly to him.

“I’ve never been one to look back at records and think about it. Now it’s, ‘You’re the first manager to do this to win this,’ and my focus is always on improving and getting better.

“Unfortunately I can’t play football anymore and Erling can only work on improving and keep on scoring.”

Raphael Varane has been heavily linked with Manchester United this summer.

The French defender’s contract with Real Madrid is set to expire next summer and the Spanish giants should sell him this summer to avoid losing him on a free deal next year.

Man United are on the lookout for a partner for club captain Harry Maguire and Ferdinand is already excited about the prospect of Maguire and Varane playing together.

“He brings an absolute winning mentality,” he said on his Vibe with Five podcast. “I think he’s played in 14 finals and won 14. So there’s an absolute winning mentality, he knows how to win, he’s got great experience and he’s an unbelievable specimen by the way.

“I’ve been saying alongside Maguire he needs someone with some pace the way Man United play.

“When I’ve seen Man United in problems and in trouble in games, a lot of the time teams have been given a bit of confidence or seen a chink in the armour of Man United when they see they can get people one v one or play the ball over the defence, into one of the channels and then it’s a race.

“We haven’t had the players quick enough to do that in the centre-back areas. If you get someone like him, people start thinking ‘well we ain’t gonna play the ball over the top cos Varane is gonna eat that up.’ Someone like him, he’ll bring that authority I hope to the back line.”

Brandon Williams Close To Completing Loan Move To Southampton

Brandon Williams Close To Completing Loan Move To Southampton

Manchester United are close to finding a loan agreement with Southampton for Brandon Williams.

He only managed 14 outings last terms after impressing in 2019/20 with 37 appearances.

“Southampton are confident they can finalise a deal,” The Athletic reported.

“The two clubs have held talks, and with the full-back eager to get regular game time, good progress has been made.

“The defender has been assured Hasenhuttl is ready to grant him much greater playing time than he was afforded at United last season, while complimentary reports on the Austrian’s management have made their way to Williams.

“There are still details to sort, including salary contributions. Southampton would be expected to take on the entirety of the defender’s wages, just as they did when they signed Liverpool’s Takumi Minamino in January.

“One stumbling block could yet be the fee. Should United demand a major payment from Southampton, the move might fall through.

“Ed Woodward insisted on a £1.5 million fee for Jesse Lingard’s six-month loan to West Ham United, delaying the completion of the switch until late in the January window, and it remains to be seen where the executive vice-chairman pitches Williams.

“It is regarded as unlikely there would be an option to buy included in the contract. But sources are encouraged a move will be completed sooner rather than later, with Southampton hoping to have Williams in for pre-season at the earliest moment.”

Manchester United New Signing Lapped Up Praise From England Greats

Jadon Sancho finally got his first start for England in the 2020 Euros.

He played the full 90 in the 4-0 win over Ukraine on Friday.

“I’ll tell you one thing, next season at Manchester United he’ll have people off their seats,” said Ferdinand on BBC Sport after the game.

“There were moments in this game where he draws your breathe and you think, “Ooh, wow, that’s different!”

“He’s a fabulous talent, we know that, but mentally he’s very strong and he’s got a desire to be as good as he could be and wants to fulfil that potential.

“Players that can up the tempo of a game are different and they mean something different to your team and they can change a game the way he did tonight.

“One-twos, playing with composure, playing off both feet, end product.

“This is his first game by the way in the tournament and he comes in and plays the way he did today and creates moments. It shows you the talent that’s there.”

Lampard added: “I think there’s a natural balance and acceleration in him, and movement. This is not the norm.

“And fortunately for England now in our squad we have a few players like this, these incredible talents in attacking areas.

“But he completely vindicates Gareth’s decision to play him today, because of what he brought. He wanted a bit of something more direct, he wanted a right footer, he wanted someone off the side.

“As Rio says, the maturity for a young kid to come in and show it in a game of this level says a lot about his mentality as well. We’ve got a special player coming to the Premier League.”

Jadon Sancho will join Manchester United after the Euros.

The 21-year old forward will join the Red Devils after the club finalised a deal of £73m for the England international.

Sancho scored 50 goals and assisted 64 more in 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and returns to Manchester four years after leaving United’s rivals, Man City.

Club captain Harry Maguire is confident that Sancho will have a huge success in the years to come.

Maguire said: “When he does sign, I’m sure he’s going to have a great career for United and be a big part of us being successful in the future.

“Jadon’s a top player. He has exceptional talent even though he is still really young, although he has played so many games.

“We’ve got some exceptional talent in his position in this England team so Jadon will bide his time, be patient and be ready when his opportunity comes.

“I’ve been really impressed with the way he has been working in training. He’s really putting a shift in day in day out. He has some great talent. He is scoring goals in the five-a-sides and so on. He’s a great lad.”

Jadon Sancho Agreement Completed, Move To Be Announced Soon

Jadon Sancho Agreement Completed, Move To Be Announced Soon

Manchester United have finally made a breakthrough in negotiations for Jadon Sancho.

Borussia Dortmund are set to accept a €90m bid with add-ons for the marquee winger.

United have been pursuing Sancho for well over two years now. They missed out on his signature last summer due to his asking price of €120m. After one season his fee dropped significantly due to his contract length.

BVB got 16 goals and 20 assists out of him last term, being well rewarded with Champions League football for 2021/22. Sancho has developed at a meteoric rate since his move to Germany as a 17-year-old.

The England international broke out as a prolific talent from the right wing of Dortmund. He became their creative heartbeat and an attacking talisman right until Erling Haaland’s arrival. Sancho might finally be able to solve United’s attacking issues down the right flank.

Man United legend defends Paul Pogba after France criticism

Paul Pogba received criticism for his performance against Switzerland.

The World Cup winners were knocked out of the tournament in an intense penalty shootout by Switzerland.

Paul Pogba made an impressive curler from outside the box into the top corner to secure France’s 3-1 lead in the last fifteen minutes.

He was then criticised for giving the ball away near the halfway line in the build-up to the goal of substitute Mario Gavranovic.

“I thought he was brilliant,” said Andy Cole. “He proved to everyone just how good a player he is. Yeah, you’re still going to have people question him. A lot of people try to blame him for the third goal but I can’t get my head around that. If you lose the ball in their half, trying to create something, and then they run basically half a pitch to score a goal, that means his team-mates didn’t help him particularly well. If you’re going to blame him for that goal… It is what it is, but he proved just how good a player he is.

“You can talk about he gave the ball away, but we all give the ball away. Mbappe missed a great chance when he should have gone inside on his right foot – has anyone mentioned that? It’s a Paul Pogba thing, I think. It was definitely a brilliant penalty too – he did everything well last night.

“I think he’ll be bitterly disappointed. Like you said, with the performance he put in as well, I thought he was brilliant. I listened to some of the comments and people were trying to [laughs]… I genuinely believed football was a team game. I genuinely did believe there were 11 players out there.

“We can all sit here and pick up on people’s negatives and what they didn’t do. Let’s talk about his positives and what he did do. France have gone out, yeah, and were the better team. But, when it goes to penalties, it’s a lottery and they weren’t good enough on penalties.”
