Manchester United Target Rejects Barcelona Link

Manchester United Target Rejects Barcelona Link

Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona connections won’t have an effect on his decision, Matthijs de Ligt has confirmed.

The Dutch defender had an exemplary season as he captained Ajax to the Eredivisie title and also guided them to the Champions League semifinal. The 19 year old’s brilliance in the heart of the Ajax backline hasn’t gone unnoticed and a number of clubs are believed to be interested in his service.

Barcelona were the first to contact his entourage and the defender looked on his course to Spain but Manchester United have hijacked the deal and reportedly have offered a huge wage to lure the player.

De Ligt said, “At the end of the day, you look at yourself only. He [Ronald Koeman] does know me well but the fact that he is Dutch won’t matter a lot [if Koeman joins Barcelona].

“Why does it take so long for me to make a decision on my future? For months there have been reports about me and the transfer period itself hasn’t even started yet, so, fine question from you. It’s not that I write it. The media does that.

“I just want to finish this season first and focus on that [making decision on future]. I do prefer to play the pre-season with my new club, or with Ajax. I don’t know when it will happen but I hope will be as soon as possible.”

Antonio Conte Refuses To Comment On Romelu Lukaku's Inter Milan Transfer

Antonio Conte has refused to shade lights on Romelu Lukaku’s potential transfer to Inter Milan.

The Italian manager signed a deal with Inter as he is set to take over the charge from Luciano Spalletti. Conte was fired by Chelsea last summer and had been without a job.

The Manchester United Forward’s future is hanging over a thread as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eyeing a fast and energetic attacker who could fit in his plans. The Belgian arrived from Everton for a £75m and the Red Devils are looking to raise at least £80m from his sale.

But Inter won’t be able to afford that much and are refusing to cross the £50m mark. The Belgian forward has already met with the Nerazzurri officials and is ready to lower his wage in a bid to accommodate him at the club.

Conte said, “I think now it’s very difficult to talk about this. For sure, we have a plan to try to improve the team.

“But it will be very important for the players, it will be very important to have a great will and great ambition, me, the players and the club, to try to reduce this gap.

“I repeat in this moment there is a sporting director to talk about this and do this question about the transfer market, about the players. But I repeat, now we are very focused to do the first step and to work together.”

Diogo Dalot Reveals This Manchester United Superstar Is His Inspiration

Diogo Dalot has revealed he takes inspiration from former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

Dalot was one of the handpicked talents of Jose Mourinho as United brought in the fullback from Porto as an understudy to Antonio Valencia. With Valencia leaving the club Dalot is expected to play a larger role in the next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opted a youth policy for the next campaign and it could be the breakthrough campaign for Dalot. The talented right back could solve United’s long standing fullback problem which had been a headache for the Red Devils.

Dalot said, “My answer will be a little bit shocking for everyone.

“Ronaldo, for me, was the main one. He was my idol from day one. Not because he’s Portuguese, or his style of playing, but for his hard work. When you think of an athlete, a complete athlete, a complete footballer, you need to choose Cristiano.

“For me, he was the main inspiration to start playing football. Not because I want to be like him, I want to take my own path, but to get to know him and see how he works is unbelievable.”

Manchester United legend urges club to rebuild

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has urged the club to take a page out of the books of Liverpool and Manchester City and rebuild. The club is far from the feared club it once used to be under Sir Alex Ferguson. This season was disappointing for the Red Devils as they ended 6th in the league with some disappointing results towards the end.

The only thing close to an achievement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men was beating PSG and Juventus in their own backyard in the Champions League.

Gary Neville who was an integral part of the club’s golden era, has called upon Solskjaer and co. to rebuild like Liverpool and Manchester City did.

Neville said, “Over the last five years you’ve seen a team that’s gone away from the vision and philosophy of what the club is all about.

But, what I would say when you look at City, Liverpool and Tottenham, their club’s foundations are really strong. And you’d say United’s are from a financial point of view. But stability on the field? If you look at those teams they have a system and a style of play and tried and trusted method whereas United seem to be going left and right from manager to manager and they need to get back to what United do best.

You hope with Ole, Mick Phelan, Michael Carrick and Nicky Butt there in the Academy that United will start getting back to the foundations. I think it will take a long time, it’s not a quick fix but hopefully with those guys in charge and the financial muscle United have still got they can get back challenging soon because it’s difficult watching Manchester City win everything. It’s difficult because they’re miles better than United at this moment in time.”

Ryan Giggs Hails Manchester United Academy Prospect Dylan Levitt

Wales manager Ryan Giggs hails Manchester United academy prospect Dylan Levitt.

Levitt is regarded as one of the hottest prospects and is knocking on the door for a senior call up. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a sheer believer of youth policy and already provided ample opportunities to players with the likes of Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood.

Levitt impressed the former United winger during a Wales camp in the Algarve and Giggs included him in the 28 man squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers. The 18 year old could be handed his debut against Croatia which is scheduled for 8th June.

Giggs said, I know more about Dylan because he is at United

“I have spoken to Butty about him a few times, seen him a few times live on TV and in person.

“He is similar to [Manchester City and Wales player] Matty Smith – he wants to get the ball down, wants to pass and get in different positions.

“He impressed me last week and that is why he is in the squad.”

“I did a three-day camp two weeks ago in Cardiff, which I did last year, and last year was the first year I was seeing Dan James, Matty Smith, Connor Roberts and Chris Mepham.”

Manchester United Handed The Green Light To Pursue Elite Playmaker

Manchester United Handed The Green Light To Pursue Elite Playmaker

According to the latest reports, Philippe Coutinho is open to leaving Barcelona after being contacted by both Chelsea and Manchester United.

He is the Blaugrana’s most expensive signing at £142m but he has failed to replicate his form back from his Liverpool days. The Brazilian has struggled to fit into the La Liga outfit, especially with the dominant Lionel Messi playing alongside him.

Ernesto Valverde’s choice to play Coutinho out of his natural position, which is the number ten role has not bode well for either parties. Now, with talks of Antoine Griezmaan ending up at Camp Nou gaining momentum, it is becoming increasingly likely that the former Reds player could leave the La Liga giants for good.

Mundo Deportiva claims that Coutinho has already told his closest pals that we would not mind a move out of Barcelona. He is clearly unhappy with the constant criticisms from the club’s own fans.

Chelsea have registered their interest in the Brazilian but their wishes will only be fulfilled if they successfully overturn the transfer ban in the coming weeks. United, on the other hand, have the financial power to steal Coutinho’s signature but they are also limited by the absence of Champions League football.

Both clubs should take heart from the fact that their top transfer target is willing to move elsewhere.

Manchester Handed A Major Boost As Guillem Balague Provides Matthijs de Ligt

Former Manchester United Manager Feels This Defender Should Opt For Manchester City Or Barcelona

Manchester United have been handed a major boost as reputed journalist Guillem Balague insists Barcelona are not so confident regarding the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt.

The Catalans were destined to sign the defender following a brilliant 2018-19 season with Ajax. The 19 year old captained the Dutch side to the Eredivisie title and also guided them to the Champions League semifinal where they conceded a narrow defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

United entered the competition and have reportedly offered the player a massive £15m wage to lure the player to the Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to rebuild the team around youth players and de Ligt fits the profile perfectly.

Balague said, I think De Ligt is right in just being calm about the situation.

Right now, for me, Barcelona are the favourites but Barcelona are not very optimistic – not as optimistic as they were a month ago.

“These are just impressions. They have told De Ligt what they offered, they have told Ajax what they offered. They’re just waiting for an answer.”

Ahead of the Champions League final on 1st June, Tottenham’s favourite son Son has revealed his Manchester United inspiration he draws from. He talked about former United star Ji-Sung Park.

“He was unbelievable,” said Son on Park. “I respect him. I respect the players who started playing in Europe because they opened the door and gave us the opportunity to play in Europe. This was what I wanted to do – to play in Europe.

“And now I want to give a good image of South Korean players and open the door even wider than it was a few years ago.

“This is my target. This is what I’m aiming for. Of course it’s not that easy. I try to be like him [Park] because he did an unbelievable job for us and for our country and that’s why I respect him so much.”

“I got up and watched because Park was playing for United and he was playing in the final as well.

“This was so big in South Korea because he was the first (Asian) player who played in a Champions League final. United had arrived in the final. I was doing it as a football fan.

“Did I dream it would be me one day? Of course you are dreaming about good things. I am always dreaming about good things like winning something. Or being the best player.”

Manchester United Target Is Not Bothered By The Club’s Interest

Manchester United Target Is Not Bothered By The Club's Interest

Harry Maguire is not concerned by Manchester United’s interest in him and is fully focused on England.

The Leicester City defender played a pivotal part in the Three Lions journey to the semifinal in the Russia World Cup and is expected to lead the English backline when they face Holland in the UEFA Nations League semifinal.

The former Hull City defender was heavily linked with a move to United but went on to stay at the King Power Stadium and put his pen to paper to a new long term deal.

The Red Devils are still in the market for a suitable partner of Victor Lindelof and are tapping all the available resources. Maguire’s expertise in the Premier League ranks high among United’s other targets and they raid the Foxes to acquire his service.

Maguire said, “When I’m away with England, I don’t think about anything to do with club football.

“As soon as I wear this badge, it’s really important to focus on England and nothing else. I’m fully focused on the two games coming up and that’s where my head is at the moment.”

Manchester United Still A Prime Destination For Top Talents: Gary Neville

Gary Neville believes that Manchester United is still a prime destination for world-class talents despite the club’s absence from next season’s Champions League.

“I think United can still attract top-end players because we’ve seen good players come in the last six or seven years,” he said, quoted by the Manchester Evening News. “The club will never move away from being a sensational club, although it will have difficult moments and is having one now.

“But the club has lost out on players when it was successful to Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. There was [Arjen] Robben to Chelsea in the mid-2000s, [Samir] Nasri to City. Don’t think it didn’t happen when Alex Ferguson was here.

“It isn’t because of the current plight or the coach or the manager or the players. It just happens sometimes. It happened in successful times too.”

The Red Devils are targeting Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan Bissaka and Neville shared his thoughts on the youngster.

“He’s a massive talent and the club, to be fair, have always signed young, emerging British talent,” added the Englishman. “I don’t think that should change and it would seem to me that the club would like to go back down that route and he is one.

“The price is always going to be big because clubs are wise now to it so you can’t pinch players off clubs for £5m or £6m anymore. They have the Premier League funding of £100m so they don’t need to panic, they don’t need extra £5m or £10m and want £50m or £60m.”
