All the recent managers have encouraged youth talents and interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also believes in promoting young players.

James Garner, Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood all have had their chances under the Norwegian. With the season coming to its business end we could witness more young players coming to the senior setup.

The present Manchester United U23 side is being managed by Neil Wood.

The earlier Under 21 Premier League was abolished as a new sleek and sharp Premier League 2 was introduced from 2016-17 season.

The idea was to match the technicality, physicality and intensity with the Premier League to give the young players a chance to showcase their skills.

Matej Kovar

The 19-year-old was promoted from the Under 18 side having only signed for United from FC Slovacko in January. His rapid progress at the  Under 18 level helped him in gaining a quick promotion to the next level.

Alex Fojticek

Became the first-ever Slovakian international to represent Manchester United following his arrival at the club back in 2016.

Paul Woolston

The 21-year-old has loads of experience at the youth level and joined the club back in November having impressed the Academy hierarchy in a number of trials.

The 22-year-old has already represented the USA at the senior level. Usually a right-back he can also operate in the heart of the defence.

Luca Ercolani

Another versatile defender Luca Ercolani joined the Red Devils from Italian side Forli.

George Tanner

The 19-year-old has been quite regular for the Reserves this season and has mostly been deployed as a fullback.

Max Taylor

The Mancunian defender is undergoing cancer treatment and is expected to be declared fully fit very soon.

Callum Gribbin
