Manchester United Unwilling To Meet Contract Demands Of Spanish Duo

The Mirror claims that both Ander Herrera and Juan Mata might be on their way out of Manchester United this summer.

Both their contracts are winding down to an end with talks over extensions reported to have stalled.

It is quite clear with United’s player wages, the representatives of the Spanish duo are negotiating for much higher pay cheques. The club’s young winger, Anthony Martial has recently signed a deal with the club till 2023, speculated to be around £200,000 per week.

While Herrera and Mata might not have much resale value of their own and are not privy to such a high sum at this age, they are definitely on course to make improvements over their current wages.

Herrera understandably earns around £75,000 per week after signing from Atletico Bilbao five seasons back. Now, he has become a highly impactful player for the Red Devils under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Should the Norwegian boss’ contract get renewed on a permanent basis, it will become imperative for United to sign back the defensive midfielder.

Mata, on the other hand, has maintained the same squad player status that he has been accustomed to under Jose Mourinho.

We will have to wait and who the bosses at Old Trafford chose to keep after the 2018/19 campaign. United are set to face off against Watford as they return for Premier League action after the international break.
