Manchester United 'very interested' in Real Betis midfielder

According to reports from Spanish publication Marca, Manchester United are very much interested in signing Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bolster his midfield following the departure of Ander Herrera and the uncertainty clouding over Paul Pogba’s future at the club.

Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff and Sporting CP’s Bruno Fernandes are high up on the Norwegian’s wishlist. However, United are also said to be keen on acquiring Lo Celso’s services.

The 23-year-old found the net 16 times in 45 appearances in his loan season with Real Betis. The Spanish outfit roped him in for £20m from PSG this summer.

However, they could offload him in return for a gigantic sum in this window.

Manchester United will also face stiff competition from Tottenham, who view Lo Celso as the heir apparent for the departing Christian Eriksen.

The Red Devils have already signed Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer. They are currently preparing to take off for their pre-season tour this Sunday.
