Manuel Ugarte will make his debut after the international break.

Man United manager Erik ten Hag talked about club’s summer signing Manuel Ugarte. The Dutchman felt that the former PSGG man may take “months” to get up to full speed following 3-0 Premier League loss to Liverpool.

The Uruguay international was the final summer signing for the Red Devils. He joined Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.

The 23-year-old was a regular starter for PSG boss Luis Enrique last season. He also played in Copa America 2024 where his side finished third. He was not part of PSG squad for opening game due to transfer rumours. He was not registered by 12pm on deadline day, he was not eligible to make his debut against Liverpool.

Erik ten Hag speaks to media after Liverpool game and talked about Ugarte. The Dutch manager said, “With Ugarte, we have to build him into the team. It will take time, so it’s not like I’m Harry Potter. That is what you have to acknowledge. And if you see Manuel Ugarte, he didn’t play so far in the season. Not one match minute.

Man United will now take a break and will be back in action against Southampton for Premier League showdown, three days before they meet Barnsley in the EFL Cup third round.
