Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was full of praise for his young forwards Marcus Rashford and Daniel James.

United earned a hard worked draw against Liverpool and Ole was delighted.

Solskjaer told talkSPORT: “It was a fantastic goal. We’ve been asking Dan, Marcus and [Andreas] Pereira to run a lot and have loads of energy.

“I thought Marcus’ performance, Dan’s performance was the best performance they’ve had all season considering who they played against.”

And the Norwegian insists ‘the attitude and desire is there’ from his players following their draw with Liverpool.

He said: “We do have a belief in these boys and the players are a great bunch of players to work with. The attitude and desire is there.

“We’ve had loads of injuries, they’re on their way back. I’m sure we’ll get more and more better performances. The crowd was unbelievable today.

“This is a proper Old Trafford night and I expected it from the fans. But it was up to us as well, the players had to show desire.

“We started on the front foot, tackled, ran, pressed and harassed them. It’s not always pretty, but it became an entertaining football game.”
