Marouane Fellaini will announce a decision on his future soon

The player has been heavily linked with summer exit

Marouane Fellaini joined Manchester United from Everton £27.5 million, signing a four year contract with an option to extend one year in 2013.

The midfielder has struggled to establish himself as a regular for the club and often used as an impact sub by the managers. He has often been linked with a move away from the club during the previous transfer windows.

He has failed to make an impression under Jose Mourinho and was very close to joining Galatasaray last summer but a deal never went through as the manager wanted him to stay as he was short in that are. The club exercised the option to extend his contract by one year.

The 30 year old has had last limited chances under the Portuguese coach last campaign as there was lot of competition in the midfield, with the arrival of Nemanja Matic. He managed to score 8 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.

The Belgian’s deal with the Red Devils is set to expire at the end of the month, and his refusal to ink new terms throughout the 2017-18 season has led to speculation he will depart Old Trafford.

Both the parties desire to reach an agreement and he has been offered a deal which will keep him at the for another season with an option for another 12 months. But the former Everton man wants a longer deal of guaranteed 2 years with an option for another one.

The English side have completed the signing of Brazilian midfielder Fred earlier this month which further speculated that he could leave the club this summer. Clubs from Italy and Arsenal have shown strong interest in him.

Fellaini has revealed he will soon announce his club future. The Belgian international, who is currently with his national side at the World Cup, answered: “You will know soon” as quoted by Goal when asked if he would return next season.
