Mason Greenwood Admits He Is 'Nowhere Near' Manchester United Standards

Mason Greenwood refused to get carried away by the recent hype surrounding him.

The Manchester United forward is enjoying a breakout season at Old Trafford but admitted that he is still far from his best.

Greenwood said, “Everything has been quick and I’ve had to take everything on board really and to listen to what the manager and the other players have to say. It’s been a hard journey and I’m nowhere near where I want to be yet. I’ll carry on working hard and keep going.

“But if someone said to me at the start of the season, you’ll score 10 goals for Manchester United in your first season, I would have taken it straight away. I’ve done that now and I want more.”

With a lack of options in the front three, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has thrust Greenwood into the starting lineup in major games. The teenager has impressed with 4 goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season but his inexperience on the pitch has shown.

The Red Devils are still six points behind Chelsea as both teams get ready to face off on Monday night at the Stamford Bridge. Greenwood could once again earn a starting berth with Marcus Rashford currently sidelined.
