According to reports, Mason Greenwood is set to be offered a new contract by Manchester United. The 17-year-old is set to be offered an improved contract with pay of £25k per week, following his integration in the first team.

Greenwood played a major part in United’s summer tour. He was on the scoresheet in the club’s 4-0 victory over Leeds United and also scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan.

The youngster has appeared as a substitute in each of Man United’s four league games and shown tremendous promise. His increasing presence in the first team will be met with a new contract, albeit he signed a new deal only last October.

Singing praises about his abilities, Solskjaer said,

“I think with his movement and his cleverness, he’s going to be a very good player, the young boy.”

“He must stay clear of injuries, be professional and I’m sure he’s going to grab his chance. Everything is there for him.”

Greenwood also received a U21 callup from England and could be involved in the Euro qualifiers against Turkey and Kosovo.
