Manchester United midfielder has jotted down injuries as the crucial reason why Anthony Martial’s career at Old Trafford has stalled at the moment. The Spaniard believes that his French compatriot would have been on a different level entirely if not for the injuries he has suffered in recent years.

Martial, who joined United in 2015, is currently nursing a thigh injury he suffered in United’s league clash against Crystal Palace in August. Prior to that, he also suffered a groin injury last season that kept him out of United’s historic comeback victory against Paris Saint Germain.

Martial currently in race against time to be fit for United’s crunch clash against Liverpool this Sunday.

“It’s just the way I like football and the way I like him as a player,” Mata said of the 23-year-old.

“He can win a game by himself because he has this quality of overtaking players one against one, he’s got quality with the ball.”

“I enjoy playing with these kind of players, which is one-twos, and they make the play better.”

“He’s very good, he’s a very talented player. He’s been unlucky now with injuries.”

“When I say predilection it’s because I like to watch him play, I like to play with him and I like the way he is also and the way he plays, also.”
