According to sources in Turkey, Galatasaray and Manchester United are in discussions on a Casemiro loan. Turkish Super Lig clubs can still conduct business until September 13th, even though the Premier League transfer window closed abruptly last Friday. Casemiro was responsible for both of Liverpool’s goals in a dismal first-half performance, which made for an embarrassing afternoon at Old Trafford on Sunday.
In addition to being humiliated, the Brazil international was substituted at halftime by 20-year-old Toby Collyer. Erik ten Hag had to refute rumours that the midfield player had left the stadium during the interval. Casemiro showed signs of regression the previous season, but his strong preseason ensured he stayed in ten Hag’s plans; therefore, United were unable to let him go in the summer.
Man Utd in talks with Turkish giants after contact over loan transfer
In his debut season at Old Trafford, the Brazilian was exceptional as the team won the Carabao Cup and finished third in the Premier League. Following a highly encouraging beginning to his English career, the 32-year-old had a very bad 2023–2024 campaign and was predicted to go during the summer transfer window. Although the transfer window in Saudi Arabia and England has already closed, Turkish clubs are still able to sign players, therefore Casemiro might still go.
According to Turkish media, they “want to strengthen its midfield line,” which suggests that a move to Galatasaray may be imminent. In addition to ‘contacting’ Casemiro, the Super Liga powerhouses are keen to sign American international Weston McKennie from Juventus.
