David Moyes has responded sharply to the criticism given to him by Rio Ferdinand for his stint at Old Trafford.

The Scot was the manager to take over from the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson and hence he was always under added pressure to deliver.

However, many have criticized Moyes for being clueless at United and Ferdinand added his two cents on the idea by saying Moyes was the wrong man.

The manager has however, hit back at Rio now for his comments.

He said: ‘I look at it in many ways. They’re very experienced players, they will have seen how good managers work so they’ll see it differently – but I had to put my stamp on Manchester United.

‘The big thing about Manchester United… Manchester United was never going to be a revolution, it was evolution and it was going to take time and it would be a slow change.

‘It couldn’t be a quick change because they had players that were getting a bit older and they were going to have to be changed around.

‘When you look back I think people would say it was quite obvious it was going to take a bit of time for Manchester United to change things around.’
