Nemanja Matic has praised Alexis Sanchez’s character following Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round.
Sanchez was included in the starting lineup as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was hoping to provide the Chilean some much needed game time and the 30 year old showed some great moves before being substituted by Anthony Martial.
The former Barcelona player opened the proceedings with a wonderful finish. Upon receiving the ball from Romelu Lukaku the forward got past Petr Cech with a swift move and then put the ball into the net from a difficult angle.
Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial also registered their names on the scoresheet as United maintained their strong run registering their eighth straight victory under their new manager.
Matic who also played a pivotal role in the win said, “Alexis has great character.
“He works every training session at 100 per cent and I’m happy for him because when you work like that, in the game, you can’t play bad so he is doing very well. He helps the team and today, he scored.
“He is a great guy. I’m happy for him because he must understand he is a very important player for us.”
