Newcastle United Want Brandon Williams

According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Brandon Williams.

Steve Bruce has a strong relationship with the club to make his offer convincing.

The Magpies boss played nine years for United and has maintained a good relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mike Phelan. He wants to sign Williams on a loan deal this January.

The Red Devils might not be too oposed to the idea, seeing how Williams’ minutes have received this season. The youngster has shown plenty of promise last season and could be a big part of the club’s future.

Williams made 37 appearances for United since breaking out under Solskjaer. He mostly featured on the left flank as an understudy to Luke Shaw. But with the addition of Alex Telles, those opportunities have reduced greatly.

Williams is more capable of playing on the right but that is currently occupied by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Timothy Fosu-Mensah is also above him in the pecking order, allowing him to feature for just 217 minutes this season.

Newcastle could offer him a chance to prove himself in a the tighly-scheduled season. The Magpies have started off well this season, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
