Ruben Amorim- Man Utd Manager

Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui is embracing the challenges of adapting to Ruben Amorim’s ambitious vision for the club, as the team undergoes a tactical evolution.

Noussair Mazraoui: Man Utd’s Transition Under Ruben Amorim Will Be Tough But Rewarding

The Moroccan defender, a £17m summer signing from Bayern Munich, has already felt the weight of expectations at Old Trafford but remains optimistic about the road ahead.

Mazraoui, who has transitioned from his usual right-back position to a role in a three-man central defence alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez, acknowledges the steep learning curve. Yet, he is confident that United’s stature and quality will ensure success.

“I came here to win — and it will come,” Mazraoui asserted.

“Manchester United is too big not to. Everyone here knows that, everybody feels that — especially us as players.”

The adjustment to Amorim’s high-pressing, possession-heavy system has tested the squad’s adaptability.

United’s performances so far reflect this transitional phase, with a gritty 1-1 draw against Ipswich and a thrilling 3-2 Europa League victory over Bodo/Glimt serving as early indicators of progress.

Mazraoui admits the growing pains are real but necessary.

“When you want to implement a new style of play that’s so different, no one can expect instant results,” he explained.

“Yes, it’s tough right now, but we’re top players. We play to win, and we will adapt.”

Reflecting on his own role in Amorim’s system, Mazraoui is embracing the challenge of playing deeper. “This is the first time I’ve played in this position.

The view is different, and you have to make the most of the extra time on the ball in the build-up. Having De Ligt alongside me helps massively.”

The defender’s belief in United’s potential is unshaken.

“We have unbelievable players. Adapting will take time, but we’re already improving. Our first win under the boss gives us something to build on, and we’re ready to work harder.”

As United prepare to host Everton, Mazraoui’s words echo the optimism of a team hungry for success:

“We’re in a phase of growth, but belief is everything. With time and effort, we’ll get where we need to be.”
