Jesse Lingard expected to renew his contract with Man United.

The 28-year old midfielder has entered the final year of his contract with the Red Devils.

Lingard was linked with a permanent move to West Ham after his impressive loan spell with the Hammers last season.

Following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, it was expected he would leave on a permanent deal to continue his sparkling form.

He had a good start this year with United scoring a winning goal against West Ham United in the dying minutes of the game.

Solskjaer said: “Jesse’s had a good start to the season. He’s come on and scored a few goals for us, that’s been very important for us.

“We want to prolong his contract, we see him as an important player. It’s up to him, maybe up to me, to give him more playing time because he deserves to.

“Hopefully, we can get a deal sorted for Jesse because we really rate him.”
