Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has issued a fitness warning to Manchester United players insisting he would not take an unfit player to the preseason tour which starts on 13th July.

On the back of an underwhelming season, the gaffer wants to start the next season on a war footing as he is eyeing to bring back the glory days at the club. He has expressed his dissatisfaction over the fitness of some players and wants to avoid the same situation next term.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have had their fair share of injury problems and the former Manchester United forward is hoping to build a strong base in a bid to challenge the credentials of Manchester City.

Solskjaer said, “We’re not going to use the first 10 days to build them [the players] up – they should be ready to go,

Whoever’s not ready will probably stay here and not travel. We only want and need players we can use over there.”

“The last two weeks before I came to pre-season, that was my time to try to get fit so I could impress the gaffer when I started

“They’ve all got their individual programmes. They’re all different. Some need strength, some need cardiovascular stuff. We’ve got a longer summer break than any of the other challengers and we need to use that as an advantage.”
