Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Reveals Dire Fitness Concern Over Harry Maguire

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he is unsure about Harry Maguire’s fitness level ahead of Manchester City tie.

Manchester United are set to meet their noisy neighbours in the semi-final stage of the Carabao Cup.

The first leg has been scheduled on Wednesday, 8 January 2020, just a few days after the 0-0 FA Cup draw against Wolves. Maguire picked up a knock early on in the game but managed to pull through the entire 90 minutes.

Sadly, after the game Solskjaer said, “I don’t know. We were close to taking him off at half-time, but he battled through. Let’s see how he recovers. We hope so. He struggled a little bit but let’s see how he’ll recover. It’s not many days, it’s Sunday, Monday and then we go again Tuesday.”

Solskjaer has already stressed on the importance of winning smaller trophies for this United team. Good news is the Norwegian will soon have Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe and Marcos Rojo back to pick from in his lineup. Without the defensive heads, he has had a hard time rotating the Red Devils squad.

Phil Jones is the expected replacement for Maguire with Chris Smalling sent out on loan to AS Roma for the season.
