Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Wants To Convince Anthony Martial And David De Gea To Extend Their Stay

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists he will try to convince both Anthony Martial and David De Gea to extend their association with Manchester United.

United took their option to trigger the one year extension in both the player’s contract but the club hierarchy wants the player to commit their future for a longer period.

Martial has been one of the standout players this season having managed to break the shackles this term. The French youngster has found the net eight times in 14 appearances in the top flight and is currently the top scorer of the club.

On the other side, De Gea had an underwhelming start to this season but is now back at his sumptuous best. The Spanish keeper is currently one of the best keepers in Europe and has had a big influence in United’s recent success.

Solskjaer said, “I know the club want them to sign because they are top quality players.

“It’s down to the players but when you’re at Man United there isn’t a lot of greener grass on the other side. You are at the best place. It’s the biggest club in the world.

“For me, I would hope I can help or guide these players to maybe tip them over to thinking they want to stay at this club.

“If you are a regular at Manchester United, I think you should grasp the opportunity to stay here and become part of the history.”
