Ole has no regrets about selling players last summer

Ole Gunnar, Manchester United’s manager doesn’t regret letting so many of his players go away from Man United in summer 2019 (like Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and Ander Herrera to Paris Saint Germain).

The ones who stayed back, many of them are injured now. And yet again, United is facing problems with shortage of players, but Ole is okay with that.

“I have not thought ‘Oh, I wish I had kept him’. When you decide to let players go it is because of different reasons and some of those we let go were not right for the culture I was trying to build,” he said.

“That is just my belief and that is why we kept the players here with the right attitude. We know they will run through a brick wall for the club and for each other – not everyone did.”

“I am not worried about injuries because if we do have worries I am sure the officials will look at the pitch and wait. I am sure it’s safe,” he said.

“Of course I want to go as far as possible. I’d love to go to the final and win it. It is now a game at Prenton Park with the pitch as it is. It is the romance of the FA Cup for me. That is how I remember watching it on the telly,” he said.

“They have a chance – (the pitch) is a leveller. They have all the advantages.

“There is no disrespect to them but we are a Premier League club and they are League One so we should be able to go there and outplay them – though that won’t be possible on that pitch so we are up for a scrap and that’s, for me, the FA Cup.

“It is a big game for us. After two defeats we need to go out there and show we can fight and show we are not going to put our hoodies up and walk away. These players like a challenge and will fly into challenges with the aim of starting a winning run.”
