Ole Solskjaer Hails Leicester City Defender To Reignite Transfer Rumours

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer singled out Leicester City’s Harry Maguire after Manchester United’s 0-1 victory over the Foxes on Sunday evening.

The Red Devils broke the deadlock early on in the first half of the match through an incredible lobbed through ball from Paul Pogba and a calm composed finish from Marcus Rashford. Claude Puel’s men pushed for an equalizer throughout the match but their best chance fell on Maguire’s head late into injury time.

The England international was loitering in the opposition box and found himself open on goal off of a cross from Rachid Ghezzal from the right flank. Unfortunately, the header went wide off target and Leicester fell to a third consecutive defeat.

In the post-match conference, Solskjaer said, “When you’re only 1-0 up, anything can happen in that box. And I think that Harry Maguire has got a magnet on his head because it nearly always drops to him. A fantastic player in the box. So we knew we had to defend against him and out lads, they blocked, put their bodies on the line so it was a fantastic effort and they were fighting for each other.”

Maguire has long been linked with a move to Manchester United, being highly admired by former boss, Jose Mourinho. The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the finest centre-backs in the Premier League after making the switch from Hull City.

Solskjaer has been consulted by Ed Woodward regarding United’s transfer plans and the Norwegian might just slot in Maguire’s name back into the mix.
