“How do you go about without playing with Marcus, Paul, Scott? You deal with it,” Solskjaer said at his pre-match press conference. “Players are gonna get a chance, they have had a great rest, it was beneficial for absolutely everyone in the squad, individually, the team, but other teams and the league.
“The quality of football will improve. January and December was relentless for us, it’s a good move by the authorities to give us that weekend. At Manchester United you don’t get two weeks without games when you’ve got everyone, it is up to the boys to show freshness.”
There is no doubt that United’s performances will be affected without two of their best players. However, this will also be a chance for Solskjaer to fully utilize Bruno Fernandes after signing him in January.
