Ole Solskjaer Sends Clear Message To Manchester United Duo - Improve Or Get Dropped

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent out a clear message to Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira to improve or get dropped for good from the squad.

Manchester United triumphed 3-0 over Watford on Sunday night to move up to the fifth spot of the Premier League.

Both Lingard and Pereira were ommitted from the matchday squad to raise a few eyebrows. No one will deny that both players have been poor for the Red Devils this season. Many fans have questioned why Pereira was playing regularly despite his poor output.

The questions always was a lack of options. Now that Bruno Fernandes has come in through the January window, Solskjaer has the clear choice of picking the better player. He said about Lingard and Pereira, “There’s more and more competition for places. Your standard has to improve.”

“A very good win, two good wins and two clean sheets, some goals to celebrate, now we want to kick on,” the United manager also told BBC Sport. “I thought first half we started by gifting them some good opportunities and gradually we created more and more chances.

“Bruno Fernandes is quicker than he looks. Very excited by having him in. He has come in, given everyone a boost and wants to conduct a game. There are big games coming up now. The thing that matters in football is scoring goals and that is what Mason Greenwood does.”
