Pogba would be tried as an option in midfield in place of Fred.
Man United will host Liverpool this weekend in a Premier League encounter and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will face a tough task while picking his lineup due to few injuries.
Marcus Rashford picked up a knock against Atalanta on Wednesday and his availability is in doubt. Fred was also withdrawn on Wednesday with a thigh injury and his fitness is also not ideal for the Liverpool game. Bruno Fernandes was the third player to pick up a knock and he might be unavailable.
Raphael Varane is already out of the Premier League for few weeks and he is continuing his recovery from a groin injury. Anthony Martial and Amad should be available but are unlikely to start.
Solskjaer might take Rashford and Fernandes if at all possible. If we talk about Pogba, he would be tried as an option in midfield in place of Fred and play alongside Scott McTominay in deep midfield.
We have mostly seen Pogba with Matic but Ole would show faith in McTominay in this big game. Mason Greenwood is expected to take place on the right-wing. Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to lead the line, while Edinson Cavani will come on as a substitute if needed.
