Manchester United made a bid for Raul Jimenez in the summer window.

The Mexican striker established himself as one of the lethal strikers of the Premier League in the last two seasons.

He scored 27 goals in all competitions for Wolves in the 2019/20 season.

The 29-year old reveals United were interested in signing him this summer.

“During vacations or transfers every day a new team would come out,” Jimenez told Mexican outlet TUDN.

“One day I woke up and Juventus wanted me, another Manchester United and what I know is that there were approaches made. But an agreement was never reached and nothing was close. I’m very happy at Wolves.”

He although didn’t rule out a move from Wolves in the near future.

“It (a move) did not happen this time,” he continued.

“If it happens at some point then it will have to be what is best for me, for Wolves and the team that I join.

“But I am very happy at Wolves and being considered a very important player.”

He added: “You have to keep working towards that, it’s difficult to get to that point, but I’m always working, something good is learned.

“I try to get the best conditions from the best to take the best, they won’t always come out because we are different.
