According to a source, Manchester United and Real Betis have begun negotiations for a second loan for winger Antony. With four goals and four assists in 11 games for his new team, Betis, who do not have the option to purchase him permanently, Antony quickly made an impression in Spain after joining on loan in January.

According to ABC, Betis is looking at ways to retain Antony after this season, but he is now scheduled to return to United this summer. Betis reportedly first approached United about signing Antony on an 18-month loan, but as financial difficulties threatened to ruin the deal, they finally agreed to a six-month contract to temporarily sign the Brazilian.

With both Betis and Antony happy with the current state of affairs, formal negotiations to prolong Antony’s loan for the 2025–2026 season are scheduled to take place in the upcoming weeks. In addition to requiring Antony to sign a new deal with United first, the new arrangement with United may include a possible option to make the move permanent.

Red Devils to receive Antony transfer offer

According to a recent report that The Peoples Person published, Betis is eager to extend Antony’s stay. The Brazilian has also been linked to Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Real Sociedad. It has been suggested that United wants to pay about €50 million to approve the transfer of the player.

With no option for a permanent transfer, Antony’s loan move to Betis means he will return to Old Trafford at the end of the current campaign. However, it is anticipated that each party would look for a long-term split.

Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon confirmed this a few weeks ago, saying the 25-year-old had privately stated that he wanted to stay under Manuel Pellegrini’s tutelage. In order to close a transaction, it is believed that the Estadio Benito Villamarín team is “beginning to take the necessary steps to enter into negotiations” with United.

Betis is trying to persuade United to accept their demands by offering to pay a larger portion of Antony’s salary. At the moment, the Spanish team pays about 84% of Antony’s salary, but they did not charge United a loan fee.
