Rio Ferdinand Makes Champions League Prediction That Would Please Liverpool Fans

Rio Ferdinand predicts Manchester United to go through to the Semi-finals of the Champions League even after last night’s 0-1 defeat against Barcelona.

The Red Devils defender backed his former side to go through to the next stage of the competition. Even without the Blaugrana being their dominant self, United conceded the one goal at home.

Ferdinand told BT Sport, “Liverpool will go through. Spurs will go through after last night. Juventus will go through.

“And my heart says Man United will go through. My head? Depends which (Lionel) Messi turns up.”

Juventus grabbed a goal through Cristiano Ronaldo but could not hold on to the lead against Ajax. The Eredivisie outfit came back with an excellent effort from their star winger, David Neres.

The Dutch winger curled the ball well away from Wojeich Szcezny right after the start of the second half.

United are to face off against Barcelona on Tuesday night, after their Premier League fixture against West Ham United on Saturday.

Ole Solskjaer does have a serious challenge in his hands with Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic out injured. His midfield trio of Scott Mctominay, Fred and Paul Pogba struggled to keep up with Ernesto Valverde’s men.
