Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Manchester United are close to confirming a deal for the Foxes’ centre back Harry Maguire.

Harry Maguire has been a long term target of the Red Devils and it seems they are finally close to getting e deal done, just one week before the transfer window shuts down.

Rodgers expressed his disappointment in losing Maguire, pending a medical and personal terms but admits that the transfer fee was too good to turn down for Leicester City.

“There’s still a bit to go in terms of his medical and personal terms but it is what it is,” he told Sky Sports News.

“He’s a special player who we don’t want to lose but at this moment, the clubs have agreed.

“There’s still some work to do. But we are already prepared for losing him if he is to go.

“It would be incredible business [for us]. He’s a top class player and a good man as well.”

Manchester United seems to have won a long fought war over a defender they desperately needed in their team this season and should the move go through, Maguire will become the world’s most expensive defender.
