AS Roma are pushing hard to open talks with Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo

This summer, Roma is “doing everything” to sign Ronaldo.

In recent days, speculations have suggested that Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester United since there haven’t been many signings at Old Trafford this summer.

The Portuguese superstar had a miserable season in his first year back at Manchester United in 2021–2022, as the Red Devils finished with their fewest points since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.

Ronaldo did manage to score 24 goals in all competitions, though, and he was named to the PFA Team of the Year despite United’s difficulties.

He may be considering leaving United after only one year, according to reports from throughout Europe, and he is worried about the team’s lack of transfer activity.

Roma has recently been mentioned as a potential destination for Bayern Munich, despite the German club’s denials that they are considering a deal.

Fabio Petruzzi, a former defender for Roma, said to Rete that he has confirmation from his previous team that they are interested in the Portugal international.

Ronaldo would be reunited with Jose Mourinho, a fellow countryman and former manager who had the star forward at Real Madrid, if he moved to Roma.

Tiago Pinto, the director in charge of transfers, represents another Portuguese link at Roma.
