Romelu Lukaku is closing on a move to Inter Milan.
The Manchester United forward was pushed to the fringe since the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the Norwegian manager mostly preferred Marcus Rashford in the number nine role.
United are ready to welcome youth attacking prospects which could end Lukaku’s spell at the club. The Belgian forward arrived at the Old Trafford in 2017 as the Red Devils paid a whopping £75 m for his services.
Antonio Conte is reportedly set to take charge at Inter and on his insistence, the Nerazzurri are plotting a transfer of the forward. Conte earlier failed to bring in the player to Chelsea but this time the manager has prioritized his signing.
Lukaku held discussion with Inter’s representatives and is ready to take a pay cut to ease his way out from the club. But United have put a £70m price tag on the player as they want to recoup most of the money they spent on the player.
Their valuation of Lukaku could prove to be a stumbling block as the Italian side is looking for a fee in the region of £50m.
