Harry Maguire - Tallest Manchester United Players

According to rumours, Ruben Amorim is preparing for life without Harry Maguire and is unsure about the future of another Manchester United defender. Following his £80 million transfer from Leicester City in 2019, Maguire has had a mixed tenure at Old Trafford.

There were pressures associated with being the most expensive defender in history, and when Maguire lost his leadership two years ago, it appeared like he might be another transfer failure.

However, since Bruno Fernandes took the armband away from him, Maguire—who turns 33 in March—has been able to contribute to the Red Devils and has had a generally successful 2024–24 season.

Maguire’s contract was extended by Manchester United for another 12 months at the beginning of 2025, but according to the Daily Mirror, he will not receive a new offer.

Amorim is therefore “preparing for life” without Maguire, who has drawn attention from two Saudi Pro League clubs and will be free to talk with other clubs come January.

Man United star poised to leave Old Trafford for free in 2026

According to The Mirror, Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq, two Saudi Pro League teams, are showing a lot of interest in signing Maguire. If he joins the old Manchester United team, he will be reunited with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Maguire can begin negotiations with interested teams on January 1st, assuming he doesn’t sign a new contract with Manchester United before then, which is highly unlikely at this point.

The England defender may find a move to Saudi Arabia to be an alluring choice because it would be his last opportunity to earn a sizable salary before his playing career ends.

Whether Maguire quits Man United in the summer of next year is still up in the air. The club’s efforts to acquire a new centre defender, which would be necessary considering their ongoing defensive difficulties, could have a significant impact. Amorim, who cherishes the 32-year-old, may provide some hope, nevertheless.
