Manchester United preparing a £60 million bid for Chelsea star

Former Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs believes Chelsea star Cole Palmer would be a perfect fit at Old Trafford.

Ryan Giggs endorses shock Chelsea to Man Utd move for Cole Palmer

Giggs openly endorsed a summer move for the 24-year-old playmaker during an appearance on the Rio Ferdinand Presents.

The Manchester United legend told his former teammate that Palmer’s creativity could solve a major problem in Carrick’s squad.

“Yeah, he would, Manchester lad,” Giggs said.

“Where would he play with obviously Bruno at No.10? He could play off the right possibly.

But yeah, we talk about Hojlund and Sesko, it’s only really Bruno who is creating things time and time again.”

Giggs warned that United rely too heavily on Bruno Fernandes.

“What if Bruno has a bad day or he’s injured? You need three or four players in your squad who can make things happen for these players to put the ball in the back of the net.”

United reportedly view Palmer as a key summer target as they look to ease the creative burden on their captain.

The club spent roughly £200 million on forwards last summer, including Benjamin Sesko, but want more elite attacking depth.

Palmer, a lifelong United supporter, has grown frustrated at Chelsea this season. Injuries and a broken toe limited him to 31 appearances, though he still managed ten goals and three assists. Sources suggest he would welcome a return to his home city.

However, Chelsea hold a powerful negotiating position. Palmer’s contract runs until June 2033, and the Blues insist their talisman is not for sale.

The forward himself has played down exit talk. “Everyone just talks. When I see it I just laugh,” Palmer told The Guardian.

“Obviously Manchester is my home. All my family are there, but I don’t miss it.”

Palmer faces former club Manchester City in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley. After that match, his long-term future will return to the spotlight with Giggs firmly backing a move to Manchester United.
