Manchester United winger Alexis Sanchez bashed reports that claimed he bet on Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

The Sun published a report that Sanchez bet on a WhatsApp group consisting of Manchester United players that Mourinho will be fired. He even bet Marcos Rojo £20,000.

However, Sanchez retaliated to those reports on Twitter, calling them false. The Chilean posted a picture of the report and wrote, “This is FALSE!!!. José gave me the chance to play for the best team in the world and I only have gratitude for him. We are a truly United team. We are MANCHESTER UNITED. Respect. I can’t wait to help the team !. Good luck tomorrow family!”

Manchester United sacked Mourinho on Tuesday and appointed club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager for the remainder of the season. Sanchez’s report wasn’t the only controversial report of a Manchester United player about Mourinho’s sacking.

Another report claimed that Paul Pogba celebrated Mourinho’s departure by saying, “He (Mourinho) f***** with the wrong baller. He thought he could make a fool of me and turn the fans against me.”

The club will play their first match under Solskjaer against Cardiff City today.
