Scott McTominay has urged his teammates to maintain ‘high energy levels’.

The Reds dismantled Leeds 5-1 in their opening game of the new Premier League season.

An atmosphere at Old Trafford with a full capacity crowd helped in terms of motivation for that game.

Scott McTominay believes they mount a serious title challenge this season.

“The fans help in terms of motivation for the game and it was the first game of the season and stuff like that so, I feel like for us now we need to keep the energy levels high for the whole squad,” McTominay told MUTV.

“We have to maintain that balance, the whole squad is going to be needed at every point of the season and everyone will play their part. We just want to keep pushing and gradually building up, it’s only a good start.”

“A hell of a difference [fans being back]! It was like they’d been there the whole time, it just felt so normal and just to how Old Trafford should be. So grateful to see everyone there enjoying themselves and obviously we put on a good show so that helps,” he added.
