Mauricio Pochettino was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last night.
Now TV Pundit Harry Redknapp has revealed that the former Spurs boss came very close to joining United last season in December after Jose Mourinho was sacked.
“He was reasonably successful,” Redknapp told Sky Sports after Pochettino’s sacking from Tottenham on Tuesday. “I like him, I think he’s great, I’ve got a great relationship with him. He will think he’s going to get a big club and he will get a big club, there is no doubt about that.
“Whether it’s in England, I know he thought he had a big job due last year, I know his advisors spoke to another club and it looked like it was a done deal, apparently, but he didn’t get the job. He’ll be in a big job very shortly.”
With United still in trouble and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer not doing so well, can we see Pochettino go back to Manchester United?
