Tahith Chong Reject Manchester United Extension Amid Juventus Interests

Tahith Chong has decided not to renew his contract with Manchester United as Juventus express interest in the teenager.

The Dutch winger is a graduate of United’s youth academy. He moved to Old Trafford in 2016 and has registered 4 appearances for the senior side.

He seems to be struggling to break into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season despite the Red Devils lacking any depth in the wide positions. Mason Greenwood, 17 has already made 9 Premier League appearances this season and seems to be in the process of earning more.

Chong has grown frustrated with the lack of opportunities at Manchester. He is due to turn 20 in December and is not anywhere close to winning more minutes. Juventus have “expressed serious interest” in the winger and is looking to approach him with pre-contractual terms.

But if it is playing time he wants, neither United nor Juventus is a good option for Chong. He could bide his time while out on loan to a different team like Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Joel Pereira.

United are expected to make further signings in the upcoming transfer window. This could spell further trouble for Chong and his playing time, possibly making his decision the right one.
