Bayern midfielder Thomas Muller was surprised by Sabitzer’s deadline-day move to Man United.

Midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has joined the Red Devils on loan for the remainder of the season.

Erik ten Hag was desperate to find a replacement for Christian Eriksen who will now be out for three months.

Sabitzer struggled for game time with the Bavarians and decided to take his chance with a Premier League club where to expects to play more games.

The Austrian midfielder is expected to make his debut against Crystal Palace over the weekend.

Ten Hag believes the 28-year-old is an ideal replacement for the injured Christian Eriksen.

But Muller claims that the midfielder is gone for a short spell and will be back with the Bundesliga giants in the summer.

‘The team was surprised. It happened very quickly,’ he told Kicker.

‘I’m happy for Sabi that he’s moving to Manchester United, getting a chance to play there. Manchester is a huge name.

‘He’ll be back in the summer,’ the striker added. ‘The chapter isn’t over yet.’
