Tuchel expects Ronaldo to have a ‘huge impact’ following his return to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have re-signed Cristiano Ronaldo on a two-year deal and the Portuguese star is expected to make his debut against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
Ronaldo left United back in 2009 to join Real Madrid and his return will help the club return to the top step of the English football pyramid.
Tuchel believes United were already strong without Ronaldo and now will be a more tougher side to beat.
“They were a super hard team to play against and beat last season. They were close to winning a European trophy and finished second place. So they were strong before the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo,” Tuchel told reporters.
“I think he will have a huge impact. He is a true champion and has proved at any level, in any year, he can perform at outstanding levels. And don’t forget, he will have an impact every day with the group, it’s not just goals and assists.”
