Top Manchester United Target Happy To Remain At AS Roma

Manchester United are heavily interested in signing AS Roma midfielder, Nicolo Zaniolo but the 20-year-old claims to be happy with his current side.

This is a blow for the Red Devils as it further prolongs their search for an able creative midfielder.

Zaniolo has struck the back of the net 5 times this season. He enjoyed a breakout season last year and has been lighting up the Serie A with his silky smooth touches and mature playmaking ability.

The youngster wants to repay Roma for having faith in him which is why he signed a contract extension until June 2024.

“The minimum objective this season is to improve day by day. We want to win every game. The objective is qualifying for the Champions League,” Zaniolo told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’m very happy, Roma have given me so much confidence, now I’ll repay it on the pitch. I’m proud to represent these fans, I feel very good here. The things Fonseca has to say, he says to your face. He’s a very direct person and he’s helping me improve.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to find some creative outlet with his main star, Paul Pogba out injured. Other than the Frenchman, United don’t have any reliable figure to carry their ball from the defence to attack. There search does not have to end with Zaniolo since there are plenty of options for them to pursue like Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen.
