One of the teams in Europe fighting for survival this season is Kayserispor. With just two victories this season, the team, now ranked 16th in the Turkish Türper Lig, has only amassed 15 points.

Furthermore, it could be argued that survival and advancement would be the goal to assist the team in developing after finishing in 13th place in the Turkish first league the previous season. As a result, Kayserispor may have the ideal chance to strengthen their team and, consequently, their prospects of surviving during the January transfer window.

Given that their highest scorer this season, German Onugkha, has only scored six goals thus far, the team may decide to hire players for the offensive positions. With just two clean sheets this season, the team may consider adding defensive reinforcements in order to improve.

In an attempt to bolster that position, the team has now made an offer for a Manchester United winger. In advance of the January window, Kayserispor reportedly made a fresh offer for United winger Sam Mather, according to Manchester Evening News.

Mather set to leave Man Utd

Sam Mather, a young player for Manchester United, is expected to depart the team next month due to renewed interest from Major League Soccer and Turkey. The 21-year-old winger, who has previously spent time on loan with Tranmere and Rochdale, has already drawn attention from Turkish team Kayserispor and New England Revolution.

He nearly joined Kayserispor in the summer, but an agreement could not be reached, and negotiations to join the UAE league were unsuccessful. Mather was a member of Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup-winning squad in 2022.

Mather has only played in six under-21 games this season, despite regularly attending training sessions with Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad. However, two of those appearances came against Tamworth of the National League and Borussia Dortmund in the Premier League International Cup earlier this month. United wants to assist Mather in making a transfer that will advance his career.
