Manchester United willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club this summer

Ronaldo signed a £480,000-a-week deal last summer upon his return to the club from Juventus.

Manchester United are reportedly open to letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave Old Trafford after the ongoing season if he decides to push for a move.

The former Real Madrid star has been a standout performer for the United. He has scored 15 goals and registered 3 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

The 37-year-old will see his contract expiring in 2021 with the option of a further year. The legendary footballer can leave the club if Manchester United fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

A recent report claimed that the Portugal captain is struggling with the pace of the Premier League this season, which could lead to an exit this summer.

As per the reports of The Mirror, Man United will not stand in the forward’s way if he wishes to seek a move away from the club ahead of next season.

The report also adds that Ronaldo signed a £480,000-a-week deal last summer upon his return to the club from Juventus, which makes him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Man United are already seeing a downfall this season. They are fighting hard for the top-four finish in Premier League 2021/22. They are currently at the fourth spot but Arsenal have two games in hand so they have strong chances.
