Zidane has been heavily favored to become Manchester United's manager

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has himself confirmed that he wants to return to management.

Zidane left Real Madrid just days after winning his third Champions League with the club as a manager. The France legend has been a heavy favorite to replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Reports even suggested that Zinedine Zidane has made a shortlist of four players he wants to bring to Old Trafford.

Zidane spoke to Spanish TV broadcaster TVE. When asked if he wanted to return to management, Zidane said, “Yes, surely. I am sure that I will coach again before long. This is what I like and what I have done all my life.

Jose Mourinho’s job security has come under scrutiny after Manchester United’s shaky start to the Premier League. For the first time in 26 years, Manchester United lost two of their first three Premier League matches. They did come back to winning ways by beating Burnley 2-0.

However, there are still huge doubts over the team playing in the Champions League next season. Many have called for Mourinho’s sacking including a few former Manchester United players. Lee Sharpe predicted that Mourinho will leave before Christmas while Eric Cantona said that the Portuguese is not the right man to coach Manchester United.

Manchester United’s next match is against Watford on Saturday. After this, they begin their Champions League campaign against Swiss club Young Boys.
