Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot admits the players are happy with Erik ten Hag’s imminent arrival.
The club confirmed the appointment of the 52-year-old as their next permanent manager last month. The Ajax manager agreed on a £1.7million deal to release him from his contract with the Dutch club. Erik ten Hag has signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of a further 12 months.

Dalot says the preseason tour will be the perfect chance for the squad to turn over a new leaf as they begin work with their new coach.
Dalot told United’s in-house media: “Just because there’s a tour it’s a good opportunity for everyone. A new start, a new chapter, a new era.
“So I think everyone will be excited, I’m sure that the manager will be excited to work with us as well. So we need to build everyone as a team, as a group, as a club, and hopefully next season we can be solid and start the season well with a very good coach.”
The Portuguese defender has also outlined his personal target of adapting to Ten Hag’s demands for players in the full-back position as quickly as possible once the new boss arrives.
“I think the full-back position has been growing a lot in terms of the game plan and inside of the game. For me, it’s been a very good journey to have different coaches, different ideas, so I can adapt in every situation.
“I’m sure that with the new manager I’ll try to adapt quick and show him that I can help this team, this club, and I think that’s the mentality that everyone will have. At the end of the day we all want to play but the first thing is the team.”
