Solskjaer impressed with Diogo Dalot’s loan spell with AC Milan.

The Portuguese fullback who is currently on loan at AC Milan has been impressive and the Italian club might want to him permanently in the summer.

He has been an influential figure for Stefano Pioli’s side this season and has featured 22 times for the Serie A giants in all competitions.

Dalot is contracted until 2023 with the Red Devils and manager Solskjaer believes he has a big role to play in his squad and wants him back in the summer.

“The plan was always for Diogo this season, or the main thing for Diogo, was to be fit,” said Solskjaer.

“He never managed to be fit for a long spell when he was here [and was] unfortunate with injuries.

“Now he’s kept fit all season; he’s been available for them.

“He’s playing at a big club, big expectations, [with the] great history of the club, so it’s been a good year for him.

“So, of course, I’ve been very pleased with his development this season.

“He’s our player and we’re looking forward to having him back.”
