Solskjaer has revealed he is living the dream of managing Manchester United.

“I love managing these boys, I love working here,” he said. “As I said so many times, I am just doing the best I can every single day, and if and when… if it comes to a decision to be made, we’ve got to think about that.”

“I am not here to get excited, I am here to do my job. I am contracted to Man United until the end of June.” Solskajer, though, admits he has been preparing for a big job in management for years. “I think I have prepared all my life for this [management],” he said.

“Ever since I was a kid, when I played computer games, I wrote out all the teams with my mates. They were good old times when I used to sign Zico, Maradona and Marco van Basten. I think I have secretly always wanted to do the job I am doing now. I probably believe more that I can be a football coach than a football player. It took me quite a few years to get to the level I wanted to be at as a player.”
