West Ham United are interested in signing Wan-Bissaka on loan for the remainder of the season.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has told GiveMeSport, Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka is ‘not in the plans of Erik ten Hag’ and could head through the Old Trafford exit door next month.

Red Devils manager ten Hag will have the opportunity to sanction incomings and outgoings when the winter transfer window opens for business.

According to the Manchester Evening News, West Ham United are interested in signing Wan-Bissaka on loan for the remainder of the season.

The report adds Manchester United informed the right-back that he was free to leave the club before the end of last season and the Hammers have a close relationship with his representatives, Unique Sports Management.

West Ham were also in for Wan-Bissaka during the closing stages of the summer transfer window, but they and London rivals Crystal Palace saw loan proposals pushed back.

Although Manchester United were not initially keen on negotiating a temporary move, it emerged last month that he could return to Palace, while Wolverhampton Wanderers are also in the race to strike a deal.

Transfer insider Dean Jones recently told GiveMeSport that Manchester United are ‘trying to find a way’ to offload Wan-Bissaka.

Sheth told GiveMeSport: “I think there’ll be a few clubs who will be in for him because it seems clear now that he is simply not in the plans of Erik ten Hag.

“When I looked at the stats from this season, it is incredible to think he has played four minutes all season.

“He wasn’t even getting a Carabao Cup appearance and he wasn’t even getting a Europa League appearance. The four minutes came in that 2-1 win against Liverpool, when he came on in the 86th minute, so it’s clear that he’s not in the plans.”

Should Man United allow Wan-Bissaka to leave on loan?
According to Transfermarkt, Wan-Bissaka has been restricted to just one substitute appearance since the campaign got underway, while he has yet to make a start.

That emphasises the April appointment of ten Hag as Manchester United’s boss has not played into the former England under-21 international’s hands.

The Red Devils forked out £50million to sign Wan-Bissaka from Palace in the summer of 2019 and it is clear that they will not recoup anywhere near that figure when he eventually leaves the club on a permanent basis, but sanctioning his loan departure will give him an opportunity to impress elsewhere.

Some fine form during the second half of the season could increase his value and, with him entering the final 18 months of his £100,000-per-week contract at the turn of the year, that would be a welcome boost ahead of attempting to sell the outcast during the summer.
