Bundesliga star has offered transfer hope to Manchester Unite

The player was linked with a move to the Red Devils in the summer

Jose Mourinho prioritized signing a fast, direct winger during the summer transfer window as Manchester United lacks a proper right sided winger. Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Alexis Sanchez all prefers to play in the left flank and wanted someone to play from the right.

The Red Devils were heavily linked with a move for many players and one of them was Ante Rebic.

The Croatia International joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Fiorentina on a season-long loan in 2016 and was impressive for them. In 2017, his loan deal was extended by further one year with an option to buy and he scored nine goals in all competitions.

The winger’s appearance in the starting line-up for the victory against Heidenheim meant that he has made the requisite number of outings in an Eintracht shirt for his ownership rights to be automatically transferred to the Bundesliga club as of 1 July 2018.

His contract was automatically extended until the summer of 2021 at the beginning of this month. He was one of the stand out players for the German club last season, scoring nine goals and assisting two in 32 appearances in all competitions.

The 24 year old was very impressive for Croatia in this year’s World Cup as he grabbed attention with an excellent opening goal in his side’s 3-0 win over Argentina and helped the team to reach the finals.

However, the player snubbed the chance to move to Old Trafford to sign fresh terms at Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, but has offered transfer hope to his many suitors for 2019.

He told Goal : “I didn’t want to go anywhere. I feel great in Frankfurt, am playing well and I’m happy.

“There were a lot of offers this summer but Eintracht showed how much they appreciate me.

“They offered me a new contract, I signed it, although they always knew that I would.

“There’s enough time in my career to make a move, perhaps as soon as next summer.”
