Manchester United Midfielder Assures Fans Of A Better Future After PSG Defeat

Ander Herrera promised Manchester United fans of a better future after their 0-2 Champions League defeat against Paris Saint-Germain last night.

The Red Devils started off with a lot of possession but ended up getting tactically outclassed by Thomas Tuchel. Goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe saw the visitors gain a 2-goal advantage going into the second leg of the knockout draw at Parc des Princes.

After the loss, Herrera posted a message on his Instagram profile that read, “We knew it was going to be impossible to be unbeaten forever. But we wanted to give to our fans a special Champions League night and we couldn’t. We promise we will keep working hard to make you all proud.”

The Spaniard pointed out how this was United’s first loss in 12 games and also under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The team had looked rejuvenated under the interim boss and some had even backed them to get the win over PSG due to injuries to key players like Neymar and Edinson Cavani.

Former Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger also shared his opinion on how PSG were able to dominate the United side by overpowering the hosts in midfield. The Frenchman told beIN Sport,  “In the Champions League it is an important thing that you cannot be dominated in midfield and the whole evening Man United were dominated in midfield.”

The tie is not over just yet. Fans should expect Solskjaer to jump back with a more prepared display in the second leg.
